Higuma’s Bounty at 8,000,000 Berries

On Mt. Corvo, Higuma proudly pulls out his own wanted poster and shows it to Shanks like a business card, boasting that he's killed fifty-six people — a number nobody but Higuma has ever confirmed, a rumor he spreads about himself rather than a figure the Government ever verified. The eight million berries actually printed on his poster come from somewhere else entirely: a Marine assessment, independent of whatever he claims about his own body count. The bandit gang he's run on the mountain for years doesn't outlast him: with no leader left, the men who followed him vanish from the story as quickly as they appeared, and no second wanted poster from the group ever takes his place.

The rest of the file barely leaves one village. Higuma humiliates Luffy in front of Foosha's residents, knocks him out, drags him onto his own boat, and throws him overboard to drown him, until a Sea King rises out of the water and swallows the man and his ship whole in a single bite. Shanks loses an arm pulling Luffy from the same waters seconds later, in full view of Makino and the villagers who come running. The scar under Luffy's left eye has nothing to do with that fight at all: the boy cuts it into his own face afterward, with a knife, as a tribute to Shanks, with Higuma having no part in it whatsoever.

It's the very first bounty this story ever shows on the page, and one of the shortest careers on record: opened and closed on the same day, by a sea monster rather than a judge. No trial, no arrest, no warden, just an appetite. The closed status owes nothing to the Marines here, since the ocean settled the account before anyone could ever collect on the reward for his head.
