About Straw Hat Pirates
FILE
The World Government took a long time to price this crew as anything but its captain. Across East Blue a single poster circulated. It took Arabasta for a second name to be given a figure, the swordsman's, at sixty million: two wanted men on a ship that had just brought down the criminal organization about to seize a kingdom. The others had still not earned a wanted poster.
Enies Lobby changed that. Eight notices came out at once, five of them first bounties, and it is also the sloppiest assessment the Marines ever produced on this crew: a hand-drawn portrait because no usable photograph existed, a member filed under an alias invented the day before, a doctor priced at fifty berries because he was taken for the ship's pet. The alias was put right two arcs later; the drawing came back on the poster issued after Onigashima; the doctor has never been reclassified.
After Dressrosa the stated reason on the notices changes in kind. Several figures no longer reward a specific deed but membership of the crew: the World Government began pricing the flag itself, and a bounty from this ship could double without its holder fighting anyone.
Onigashima revised everything at once, the captain included. Before that wave no bounty on board but his reached half a billion: three went past it and past the billion, a fourth stopped at nine hundred and thirty million. The captain entered the Four Emperors.
Two files on this ship are older than the crew itself. An archaeologist's, opened when she was eight years old, for what she could read. A musician's, printed half a century before he came aboard, and still in circulation.
