CONFIDENTIAL

The World Government was right all along, and this bounty concedes it.

From 130 to 930 million: seven times the previous figure. It corresponds to no notable fight. It corresponds to an act of reading.

At Wano, Nico Robin deciphered the Poneglyph the Kozuki had been guarding. That is precisely the event the Buster Call at Ohara was meant to render impossible: an archaeologist capable of reading the lost script, placed in front of a stone that points the way to Laugh Tale. Twenty years earlier the World Government wiped an island off the map and killed several hundred scholars to prevent that exact moment. It failed, and its own register admits as much in figures.

Which makes this entry unlike most of the others. A bounty normally reacts to damage already done. This one anticipates: Robin has destroyed nothing, overturned nothing, published nothing. She knows, and that is all. Nine hundred and thirty million is the price of information not yet in circulation.

The amount is worth placing, because it reads badly in isolation. Nine hundred and thirty million puts Robin fifth in her own crew on publication, behind Jinbe and Sanji, both of whom cleared a billion — and more than double Franky, Brook and Nami. No archaeologist has ever been priced at that level, for the straightforward reason that the profession is not supposed to be dangerous.

It became dangerous the day the World Government decided a century of history had to stay buried.
