Behind the bounty
On Onigashima, Sanji brought down a bounty four times the size of his own. He went into the fight posted at 330 million; Queen the Plague, one of Kaido's three All-Stars, was worth 1.32 billion. Ifrit Jambe, his Diable Jambe burning blue, ended it and launched Queen clean off the island. The poster that followed made him one of four Straw Hats to cross the billion mark in the same announcement, alongside Luffy, Zoro and Jinbe.
Wano was never just that one duel, though. In the Flower Capital, Black Leg started out running a soba stall, chasing off a racketeer and earning the locals' nickname O-Soba Mask, his face hidden behind the mask of his Raid Suit. Page One, posted at 290 million, caught up with him there without the fight ever reaching an end. Inside the fortress he pulled Momonosuke away from King, flattened two Shinuchi alongside Jinbe, and then got himself captured by Black Maria in a trap built on his refusal to hit a woman, until Robin and Brook freed him.
The Raid Suit, engineered by Vinsmoke Judge, leaves an anecdote behind. During the fight with Queen his body began to change: broken bones setting themselves, a sword snapping on his skin. Sanji destroyed the suit and its canister, asked Zoro over a Den Den Mushi to cut him down if he stopped being human, and finished the fight without it.
When Robin read the crew's new bounties aloud, a few days after Wano, Sanji took the billion badly: it put him behind Zoro and Jinbe. Readers spotted another detail in the figure itself: the 3 and 2 in 1,032,000,000 read as san and ji in Japanese, which spells his name.
