This is the only revision in the entire registry that is not a criminal decision. The World Government did not reclassify an offence or respond to a feat of arms. It reindexed a hundred-year-old sum, with a note that its subject had returned to active service. Which means that a substantial part of this increase says nothing about Dorry at all and everything about the value of the berry.

Roger, the opening of the Grand Line to every ambitious person in the four seas, the war at Marineford, and the general inflation of amounts that followed all of it. It is worth registering what that implies for every other page on this site. All the other amounts you will read here are denominated in a currency that has never stopped moving, and comparing an early Grand Line bounty to a modern one is comparing two different units.
