A newspaper told him. The paper reported that Dorry had attacked Egghead alongside Monkey D. Luffy, and that his head was now worth eighteen times what it had been worth the day before. He had not planned a comeback: the news worried him first, then he took it with pride, which is more like him.

The increase is not a punishment. A bounty tracks the value of money as well, and this one had been asleep for a hundred years. Between the day it was set and the day it was corrected, the world watched Gol D. Roger die, saw the Grand Line open to every ambitious person in the four seas, and saw Marineford burn. A hundred million no longer weighs what it weighed. The World Government did what an accountant does and reindexed — adding the observation that a giant who had dropped off the map was back at sea.

The observation is accurate. Dorry set course for Egghead with Brogy to get Luffy out, and the two of them decapitated Shepherd Ju Peter in a single motion when the Elder swallowed him whole. He took Topman Warcury's tusks on his shield and knocked him away, then ran, because the Five Elders regrew everything done to them. Earlier, Shanks, whom he calls his brother, had asked him for a favour: the Victoria Punk was split by a Hakoku and the Kid Pirates went down with it.

An amount like this ranks among the highest known bounties, above Boa Hancock's 1.659 billion. Eighteen times more, then, for a man about whom nothing new was learned except that he was still sailing, and that he had sided with Luffy.
