Brogy’s Bounty at 1.8 billion Berries

A bounty does not expire. As long as a death has not been confirmed the head is still collectable, and Brogy is the case the world tested that rule on: when Galdino found him on Little Garden, the notice was a century old and still perfectly valid.

The timescale is not ours. Giants from Elbaf live roughly three times as long as humans, and at a hundred and sixty Brogy is somewhere in the middle of his life. The men who put this price on him are in all likelihood long dead; he himself had grown up on Elbaf beside Dorry and a young Harald, the future king, long before the world put a figure on him. Nothing suggests the matter is anywhere near closing.

The increase has two halves. One is arithmetic, and it looks a lot like real life: a hundred years of money losing value, an amount fixed in a currency that has never stopped moving. The other is that he was seen again. Brogy went back to sea, put his axe into Vice Admiral Tosa at Egghead, took Shepherd Ju Peter's head off with Dorry to pull Luffy out of the Elder's belly, and was still holding the deck behind his shield when Jaygarcia Saturn latched onto the ship's bow.

The world did not reassess him because he had grown stronger. It reassessed him because the name was turning up in reports again after a century of silence, and it cleared the arrears in one go. One detail says everything about what changed: the old notice carried two giants and a single figure. The next one carries only him.
