Galdino’s Bounty at 24,000,000 Berries

Once set, the wax of the Doru Doru no Mi turns harder than steel. Galdino, known inside Baroque Works as Mr. 3 — said to be the sharpest mind among the officers, having inherited the rank his own partner Mr. 4 lacked the wits to hold — built his whole approach around traps rather than open combat.

At Little Garden he locks Zoro, Nami, and Vivi inside his Giant Candle Service Set, a pumpkin-shaped wax cake bristling with rotating wicks, where the giant Brogy ends up trapped alongside them: molten wax drips over all of them, promising permanent statues, until Nami stops the process just before it seals, by turning his own material back against him. Galdino calls himself an artist and his frozen victims his works — a sadistic perfectionism that survives even his own defeat.

Alabasta's collapse catches up with him in a slower, less dramatic way than a lost fight. Arrested once the organization falls, he ends up imprisoned at Impel Down on the same floors as Buggy. The two men, who never sailed together, become allies purely out of shared resentment — both despise Luffy. That alliance of convenience pays off the night before Marineford: Galdino breaks out alongside Buggy just as the coming war reshuffles the entire New World. Twenty-four million berries is the price on a man whose specialty was never force, but the trap and the delay.
