Raccoon exists, as of now, in exactly one verified source: the officially licensed novel One Piece Novel A: Ace's Story, written by Shou Hinata under Oda's personal supervision, later adapted into the spin-off manga Episode A by artist Boichi. The novel is presented as the one exception among the tie-in novels to carry recognized canon status — precisely because Oda signed off on its content; the manga adaptation inherits that status while remaining distinct from the main story.
