Fisher Tiger’s Bounty at 230 million Berries

Before his face went on a poster, Fisher Tiger was an adventurer. Captured on one of his voyages, he spent years as a slave in Mary Geoise before escaping. He went back fifteen years before Luffy reached Fish-Man Island, climbing the Red Line according to Boa Hancock's account, and freed thousands of slaves of every race, the three Boa sisters and a little girl called Koala among them. He did not act entirely alone: Shanks, infiltrated in Mary Geoise, cut off his collar and opened the Holy Land's armoury to him.

The 230 million poster appears in the early days of the Sun Pirates, next to that of his second-in-command Jinbe at 76 million. The story never spells out the calculation, but it is for the attack on Mary Geoise that the Marines later come to arrest him. They know what he is worth in a fight: Rear Admiral Kadar, sent to reclaim the former slaves, goes down to a single kick, and Rear Admiral Strawberry reports that the crew's strength is hard to gauge. Yet Tiger holds his men to one rule, kill no humans, so as not to sink to their level.

Koala is what ends him. Three years after the raid, the people of the island where she had taken refuge hand her to the Sun Pirates to take her home to Foolshout. There the village lets the Marines spring their trap, in exchange for looking the other way on a girl who was once Celestial Dragon property. Riddled with bullets by Strawberry's men, Tiger refuses the transfusion of human blood Aladine offers him aboard. Only then does he tell his crew he had been a slave, and that he never managed to love a human. Arlong later spread a different story, one of humans who refused to give him blood.
