Suleiman’s WANTED poster with a reward of 67 million Berries.

Suleiman still wears the naval uniform of a country that exiled him: convicted as a Class A war criminal for his role in the Dias Naval Battle, he keeps calling himself a patriot in exile, all the way to Block D of the Corrida Colosseum, where he fights for the Mera Mera no Mi. The fight ends before it really starts: Cavendish, under his masked identity as the Red Knight, knocks out the entire block with a single sweep of his sword Durandal, Suleiman included.
What follows is stranger than an ordinary defeat. Captured by Sugar's men, he is turned into a toy by the Hobi Hobi no Mi, reduced to an object without even keeping the memory of ever having been human. He only becomes a man again when the curse breaks all at once across the whole island, the moment Sugar herself loses consciousness — an indirect consequence of a trap Usopp set for entirely different reasons, never aimed at Suleiman himself.
Restored to his body, he makes his own choice: unlike most of the freed toys, tempted to loot while Doflamingo's Birdcage closes in, Suleiman decides to fight the Donquixote Pirates instead of profiting from the chaos. Sixty-seven million berries for a man whose Dressrosa arc adds up to no won fight at all, yet closes on the Beautiful Pirates of Cavendish — the very fighter who had knocked him out in round one.
