Van Augur’s Bounty at 64,000,000 Berries

Van Augur never aims at the man he wants to hit, he aims at the space the bullet needs to travel through. His Devil Fruit, the Wapu Wapu no Mi, doesn't sharpen his shot, it teleports it, or him, straight through any obstacle in the way. During the Level 6 breakout at Impel Down, that lets his bullets pass clean through the guards' own shots and wreck their weapons before a second round can be fired.

A founding member of the crew since the Jaya arc, he backed Blackbeard before anyone else was willing to bet on him. At Marineford, his rifle Senriku plays a direct part in one of the era's heaviest facts: he is the one who lands the shot that brings down Whitebeard, mere minutes after Ace's death. The world would only learn much later that the Emperor he had just helped finish off carried a bounty, kept secret until his death, of over five billion berries.

His own bounty, 64 million, tells none of that story, it predates the war, set on nothing more than a marksman judged dangerous purely for his aim. Nor does it register what happens later at Hachinosu, when Shanks comes to settle accounts with Blackbeard and Van Augur ends up face to face with the Red Hair Pirates' own sniper, Yasopp, a stand-off the story cuts short before either man fires. The record never got the chance to revisit the number.
