Van Augur’s Bounty at 64 million Berries

What the Marines priced in Van Augur is a pair of eyes. On his first appearance, three seagulls drop over the Straw Hats' ship, and Nami rules out a sniper because the island the shot came from cannot even be seen from the deck. Augur already knows which of the three did not die instantly. He shoots birds to find out which ones fate had marked.

The 64 million dates from that period, the raft years, when his only known tool was Senriku, an oversized musket with a flared muzzle built for absurd distances. At Marineford he uses it at point-blank range: Whitebeard's end belongs to no single man in that crew, it is a nine-on-one attack on someone already dying. When Shanks lands shortly after, those same nine choose to leave rather than fight the Red Hair Pirates.

The eyesight keeps earning its keep. Out in the New World, Augur is the one who spots Akainu aboard the battleship sent to trade Jewelry Bonney for a warship, and the crew breaks off in time, leaving the Supernova to the Marines.

Everything else postdates the number. The Wapu Wapu no Mi, which teleports him and anyone he lays a hand on, only appears long after the timeskip, and he admits to Catarina Devon that he has not mastered it yet. The sniper out of East Blue, the only man aboard from that sea, now commands the third ship of Blackbeard's fleet, and it is Augur who answers the Elder Jaygarcia Saturn when he asks what they are after: the world.
