Marigold's 40,000,000 spent years with nobody legally allowed to collect them. The figure comes out of the raiding campaign the Kuja Pirates ran, the one that convinced the World Government to sign a treaty with Amazon Lily rather than attack it: her eldest sister took the Warlord title out of it, and a Warlord's bounty is frozen, the freeze extending to declared subordinates. Every indication is that hers froze with it — a wanted pirate nobody had the right to pursue.

Then the system was abolished, and within weeks a Marine fleet and, behind it, the Blackbeard Pirates were standing off the island. It took Rayleigh and Shakuyaku to send them home.

What the number buys in a fight is easy to underrate. In King Cobra form she spits globs of venom that evaporate into toxic gas even when they miss, wearing an opponent down: dodging the shot is not the same as escaping it. Her Armament Haki is refined enough that she can set herself alight without harm, and that she can emit it outward to knock incoming attacks aside. Against Luffy in Gear 2 what failed was her speed, never her durability.

The rest she built herself. Small and slim at thirteen, she trained the way sumo wrestlers do until she stood four metres thirty, and she is the only one of the three sisters who carries a forged weapon, an outsized polearm with a blade to match. Sandersonia is listed at the identical figure, to the berry: the two notices came out of the same campaign, in the same crew, under the same command.
