Edward Weevil’s Bounty at 480,000,000 Berries

Edward Weevil has spent years insisting he is Whitebeard's biological son — a claim his mother, Miss Buckingham, repeats at every opportunity, and that no former crewmate has ever backed. Marco, the Emperor's former fleet commander, has flatly denied Newgate ever fathered a child. The World Government cared less about the truth than about the nuisance: during the two-year timeskip it handed Weevil a Warlord seat, less as recognition than as a way to defuse a troublesome claimant hovering around a fortune still unaccounted for.

When the Reverie dissolved the Warlord system, Weevil lost that cover, and a Marine detachment tested him — badly, since he brushed them off with no visible effort. What actually ended his run of freedom was Sphinx: Marco's home island, where Weevil showed up armed against a Marine search party, playing defender for once instead of plunderer. Admiral Ryokugyu answered the call in person. The fight itself was never shown to the reader; only the aftermath was — Weevil restrained, beaten, hauled off aboard a Navy vessel, unheard from since.

There is a real irony in how it ends: a man who built an entire career on a lineage nobody will confirm gets captured guarding, for once, something that genuinely belonged to somebody else. The bounty itself still sits at its highest point ever recorded, a fallen Warlord's figure — the one title the world ever granted him without argument, and the only one that never hinged on a paternity claim nobody could ever settle.
