CONFIDENTIAL

Sasaki commands the Armored Division of the Beasts Pirates — the corps running Kaido's tanks and siege engines — which makes him a logistics officer as much as a duelist, even while holding one of the eight Tobi Roppo seats closest to the Emperor. His Devil Fruit, the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Triceratops, an Ancient Zoan, did nothing to stop the weapon that actually brought him down: his own troops' appetite. Before bowing to Kaido, Sasaki captained his own crew, the Sasaki Pirates — an earlier career erased the day he pledged allegiance, with no trace of a bounty from that period ever resurfacing anywhere.

During the raid on Onigashima, Usopp handed out rigged dango to the soldiers under Sasaki's command, turning part of his own garrison against him mid-battle. Distracted by that improvised mutiny, Sasaki never saw Franky coming, who split him open across the stomach with the Franken sword in a single strike. No fair fight, no display of raw strength — a war strategist undone by a ration of candy that bought his own troops' loyalty out from under him before a single blade crossed his.

The 472-million bounty still honors a pillar of Onigashima's military structure, the officer meant to anchor the rear guard while the rest of the Tobi Roppo pushed the front line. It says nothing about how he actually fell, and that gap is worth noticing: on paper, Sasaki reads as a fearsome armored commander. In practice, he lost control of his own chain of command before he ever lost the fight itself.
