Zala’s Bounty at 35,000,000 Berries

Zala carries two names and two lives that echo without resembling each other. As a civilian, she runs the Spider's Café under the alias Paula; as a Baroque Works agent, she's Miss Doublefinger, the Poison Spider, the organization's second-highest-ranking woman. Her Toge Toge no Mi lets her sprout sharp spikes across her whole body, and by pumping herself up she can reach a muscle mass strong enough to level a building in one blow — a fighting persona stitched to the spider theme right down to her shop's name, and down to the deliberately swaying walk she keeps up both on missions and behind the counter.

During the Alabasta campaign, it's Nami, armed with nothing but her Clima-Tact, who ends that double life: Zala is defeated and jailed, marked for a transfer to Impel Down that never happens. Miss Goldenweek, Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine, three other agents from the same network, break her out before the convoy departs — a show of solidarity among agents who, days earlier, still didn't know each other's real identities behind the code numbers.

After Baroque Works collapses, Zala never picks up a weapon again. She reopens the Spider's Café, where her old combat nickname becomes a simple storefront sign — the same words, Poison Spider, that once marked an armed threat now mark an address that serves coffee. The 35 million bounty, meanwhile, has never been revised since Alabasta.
