The same man now appears in two competing registries, one closed and one active, and the second values him eleven times higher than the first ever did. This is not because he became dangerous. It is because he changed uniforms, and the organisation that listed him does not price pirates. It prices Marines.

A technical point belongs here. Cross Guild notices do not print a sum. They carry symbols, and the scale the series has revealed converts one star into a hundred million berries. The value shown on this page is therefore a reading rather than a printed amount, and saying so is better than letting the distinction quietly disappear.

Then there is the detail that makes the case enjoyable. Jango serves under Rear Admiral Hina, whom he follows with a devotion she has never once returned, and the Navy's own files now carry an epithet for him that names precisely what he did to get there. He is on record as the turncoat.

As for the nominal president of the organisation that has just assessed him, he is a former East Blue clown whose own bounty sat frozen at fifteen million for years. The world turned over between these two lines. Neither of the two men involved changed very much at all. Jango has reached the rank of lieutenant commander in the meantime, and Fullbody, who paid for him with a demotion, climbed the whole ladder back during the timeskip. Neither of them ever left Hina's unit.
