Xebec led the crew the Marines still call the most dangerous ever assembled, and he was the first known wielder of the Yami Yami no Mi, the very fruit Blackbeard would later tear from Whitebeard's dying body. The connection runs deeper than the fruit: Marshall D. Teach is confirmed as his son, on the same page where Xebec's full face is finally drawn — the earrings, the sneer, both inherited. The name of Teach's own ship, Saber of Xebec, had been hinting at it for years before anyone read it correctly.

His death is not an ordinary defeat. Thirty-eight years ago at God Valley, Imu mistakes him for a man dead for centuries, Davy Jones, and turns his own body against his wife Eris and the young son hidden on the island.
