Trafalgar D Water Law’s Bounty at 200,000,000 Berries

Two hundred million, a Supernova tag, and a nickname doing more work than either: the Surgeon of Death. At Sabaody the reputation lands before the man does — someone who takes opponents apart without killing them, rearranges their organs and sends them home alive. Watching him in the auction house, Eustass Kid mentions having heard some deeply unpleasant things about him. Law answers with a raised middle finger.

This poster was already printed and already frozen when he did the thing that mattered. Coming out of Marineford, he pulled a dying Luffy and a dying Jinbe out of the aftermath, took them aboard his submarine and operated for hours. Without that night there are no Straw Hats after the war, no New World, no Wano. A bounty is set on a date and holds until the next revision; this one was set beforehand, and the next revision would be paid out for something else entirely.

What it does have is an awkward counterpart. The Ope Ope no Mi that Law carries in his body had a price attached to it: the Marines were ready to hand over five billion berries for it to a pirate named Diez Barrels, who had no idea what he was selling. Doflamingo never owned it and never paid for it — the plan was to have it stolen mid-handover and pushed onto his brother Rosinante, who would then buy him eternal youth. Rosinante got there first and force-fed the fruit to Law to keep him alive.

The comparison makes itself. The same institution put five billion on the table for a piece of fruit and two hundred million on the head of the man walking around with it inside him. Even his current bounty, the largest he has ever carried, falls short of what the fruit was worth.
