Tony Tony Chopper’s Bounty at 100 Berries

One hundred berries. After Dressrosa the Marines doubled Chopper's bounty — which is to say they added fifty berries.

Here is what the interval covered. Chopper spent the two years of the separation in the Torino Kingdom, in the South Blue, where the locals began by trying to eat him and where he ended the war between them and the island's giant birds by translating for both sides. He studied the local medicinal plants and trained his body there.

At Punk Hazard he examined the children Caesar Clown had abducted and gigantified for an experiment, and it was Chopper who identified the candy they were being fed as a drug they had grown addicted to. In the same interval he also settled what had haunted him since Enies Lobby: Monster Point, until then uncontrollable and a danger to his own crewmates, now needs a single Rumble Ball and leaves him three lucid minutes inside it.

The Marines' answer: plus fifty berries.

That is not negligence, it is consistency. You do not revise a category, you revise an amount inside one. As long as the Marines file him among the crew's animals, no feat of arms can move him up a tier. He can only become a slightly more expensive animal.

The best part is that the figure was set for a battle he was not in. Chopper guarded the Thousand Sunny throughout Dressrosa, then sailed for Zou — and it was there, immediately afterwards, that he built the antidote to Koro, the mass-slaughter weapon Caesar Clown had invented and the Beasts Pirates had released on the Mink Tribe. He worked it out with Caesar himself, inside the forty-eight-hour window past which the poison could no longer be treated.
