Trafalgar D Water Law’s Bounty at 3,000,000,000 Berries

Law spent a long stretch of his career being priced as somebody else's supplement. The World Government's Warlord, then the Straw Hats' ally: twice the Navy filed him behind a larger figure. His Supernova years are the exception, captain in his own right and priced as one. Three billion files him behind nobody.

The achievement earns it. On Onigashima, while Luffy fought on the roof, Law and Eustass Kid held Charlotte Linlin inside the Skull Dome, a sitting Emperor widely believed unkillable, until she went down through the floors, through the weapons vault, through the bottom of the island and into the magma chamber sleeping underneath it. An alliance of pure convenience between two men who cannot stand each other and have never pretended otherwise.

The multiplier is the most violent of his career: 500 million to three billion, six times the previous figure in a single night. For a man whose bounty rose sixty million at the completion of his life's revenge, the contrast makes its own point.

What followed came fast. Marshall D. Teach laid an ambush on the sea route out of Wano without knowing which of the three crews would sail into it. Law's did. A number that size announces nothing specific, plenty of men carry as much or more with no Road Poneglyph rubbing anywhere near them. It only says there is something worth taking. With the Polar Tang wrecked and Law on the ground, Teach stood over him working out what to do with the Ope Ope no Mi: sell it for a fortune, or use it and never grow old.

He took too long deciding. Add up every bounty aboard that submarine and the Heart Pirates come to three billion and one thousand five hundred berries, Law's and Bepo's. It was Bepo, at fifteen hundred, who knocked the Emperor aside, took hold of his captain and got him out to sea.
